Photographed in Charleston, South Carolina.

The three LCF's - Dreamlifter - are used to fly 787 components aound the world. It is a conversion of a 747-400, with an expanded fuseage and swing tail. Winglets are removed due to buffet problems.

The main cargo area is unpressurised, with access up a ladder from the forward cargo old. It is segregated from the nose by a new flat pressure bulkhead just behind the front door. Access to the cockpit is up a ladder from the forward cabin. At the rear of the fuselage, there is no seal between the swing tail and the main body - you can see daylight clearly through the gap. All the control runs are rerouted down the side of the fuselage and looped out into the tail. The reinforcing plates around the pressure bulkhead are impressive to behold - no attempt at aerodynamics or flush rivetting.

Many of the detail shots will also be applicable to a regular 747 model.
